iPhone 4 Bottlenecks

If you’re worried that other smart phone platforms may soon outstrip Apple because of problems with the iPhone 4, I wouldn’t worry. The launch of the iPhone 4 (despite the supposed aerial problems has been much bigger than any of the previous iOS device launches so far). Supply in outstripping demand in every country the phone has been launched in.

In Taiwan,  customers placed around 200,000 iPhone 4 pre-orders, but carriers there believe one-fourth of those orders will be filled by the end of the year.  In an Optus store I visited yesterday told us that we couldn’t expect to receive a batch of iPhone 4 devices before December, possibly January next year.  These sort of bottle necks haven’t slowed down demand for the iPhone overall – In South Korea, KT Corporation annouced this week that the iPhone has sold more than 1 million units in South Korea (this doesn’t include sales of the iPhone 4).

While there are thousands of apps lining up for review every week, the iPhone market is expanding exponentially and this is still the best smart phone platform to target your marketing efforts towards.
